Whole-body dosimetry means individual dosimetric monitoring with Panasonic thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) to measure Hp (10).

The activity of DOZIMED lab is organized in compliance with the requirements of ISO standards 17025:2005 and 9001:2008, the technical recommendations of the European Commission being also implemented (EC RP-160): “Technical Recommendations for Monitoring Individuals Occupationally Exposed to External Radiation”.

Traceability of measurements is ensured by calibration of Panasonic thermoluminescent dosimetric system within SSDL laboratory of the Health Protection Agency, UK.

In order to characterize the performance of Panasonic system, type tests have been performed in SSDL laboratory, a member of IAEA/WHO Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory Network.

The dosimetric monitoring services with Panasonic thermoluminescent dosimeters include:

-Monthly shipment of Panasonic dosimeters, before the 1st of each month

-Interpretation of the thermoluminescent signal, measurement and reporting of Hp(10). Availability of results: 2-5 working days from receiving the dosimeters worn, through RepDoz online database

-Issuance of dosimeter bulletins, warning reports when the monthly derived limit is exceeded, annual reports containing the cumulated dose for the previous calendar year

-Online access to monitoring results and visualization of dose history

-TLDs packed in different-colored bags for consecutive months, for ease of periodically changing dosimeters

Advantages of using Panasonic thermoluminescent dosimeters:

-Modern technology, used in most European individual dosimetry laboratories

-Significant improvement in dose ratings quality due to Panasonic detectors made of tissue-equivalent material

-Possibility to determine very low dose values, the detection limit being 0.03 mSv.

Uncertainty related to results: 13%
